HP Smart App: Scan and Share files
Follow the steps to scan documents with an HP Printer and the HP Smart app and then save/share them.
Place a document on the scanner bed face down
Click the HP Smart app. If you can’t find the HP Smart app…
PCs: the Search bar at the bottom type “HP SMART” and then click the HP Smart Icon to open the app from the search results.
Apple/Macs: use the Finder to search for HP Smart. Alternatively, click and hold command and space bar together and search bar appears. Type HP Smart to find the app.Once HP Smart is open click the SCAN button
A message displays asking you to add your document to the scan bed (ignore if you have already added a document)
Once ready, click the blue Scan button located on the lower right-hand corner of the app.
Scanning should then start. Once complete, you will see the scanned document on the computer screen
If you do not have more items to scan skip to step 12 to share the scanned file as a PDF.
SCANNING MULTIPLE DOCUMENTS: If you want to add more documents to your first scanned document to create a digitally collated version of multiple pages in one PDF file, click ADD+
Once ADD is clicked, open the scanner and remove the first document you scanned. Place the next document you want to scan facedown on the scanner bed and close the scanner.
Once the scanner is closed, click SCAN again.
REPEAT steps 9-11 until you’ve everything you want. You’ll see the documents you’ve scanned in this session on the left-hand side of the HP Smart App.
Once you’ve completed scanning all documents, click Share located in the bottom right-hand corner
RENAME THE FILE: You will likely want to click File Name and rename the scanned document something that makes sense. For File Type and Compression you can leave these as they are.
SAVE THE FILE: Once complete, you can save the PDF to your computer.
SHARE THE FILE: If you want, you can also click Share to send the PDF via multiple sharing options.
